Replacement Diesel Services @ Great Central Railway
Oct 29 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

These train rides are instead of the planned steam locomotive hauled ones – after GCRN stalwart 8F-8274 sadly had to be withdrawn from service at the start of September due to multiple cracks in her firebox. Extensive and lengthy repairs are now required.

Meantime a replacement heritage diesel service is operating from Ruddington (Mere Way NG11 6JS) to Loughborough Junction (via East Leake) – still on the Blue Timetable at 11am, 1pm & 3pm.

All facilities are also open including Miniature Railway, Model Railway, Heritage Transport section, Cafe, Visitor Centre, Children’s Play Area and the Gift Shop.

Tickets are available online >>HERE<< or you can pay on the day. On Sundays you can access the Heritage Centre direct from Ruddington centre & Nottingham aboard the Nottingham City Transport 10C service – or put in NG11 6JS if using a Sat Nav.

There’s more information on the GRC(N) website www.gcrn.co.uk
