Update on our Village Plan

You may remember that something of a milestone was reached last summer with the publication of the definitive Ruddington Village Plan –  your vision for how our village should develop over the next 5 to 10 years. This final version of the Plan was launched in August at the 2017 Ruddington “Summer Fayre” by RVP steering group volunteers (top photo) when villagers could pick up a printed copy of the completed document, ask questions and volunteer themselves for projects flagged up by four years of research. Revised Asher Lane Housing Plans

Last December we reported how Space Foods Ltd had decided to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate against Rushcliffe Borough Council’s refusal to allow it outline planning permission for 175 new homes on Green Belt land it owns south of Musters Road – with access off Asher Lane. Neighbourhood Plan Gets Approval

With a Neighbourhood Plan communities are given additional influence to choose where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built and have their say on what those new buildings should look like. Issues which could be…

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?

A Ruddington hairdressing salon, chiropodist, photography studio, joinery firm and electrician may all need to find new premises if a new housing application off Easthorpe Street gets the go ahead. A development of seven new homes there is being proposed by landowner Jeff Hind with plans drawn up by Carlton Design Architecture Limited. Permission is being sought to demolish numbers 35 and 37, Easthorpe Street. The first is now a residential property but the second is home to Tina’s Hair Studio and Gibson Sharp Chiropody. It is also proposed that the…
